Short updates

Adidas Sundown Marathon
Sad.. according to the chip time for Adidas Sundown, I took 1h 9 min 48 sec for my 10km. This means I had deproved from my previous run of 1h 6 min. I'm ranked 470 out of a total of 4264 runners. If only I did not walk so much. Shall train harder when I come back from Xinjiang.

Asia Conference 2010
Anyway, I was really glad that I made it for the Finale of Asia Conference. I was especially challenged when Pastor Kong summarized the Word shared by Dr AR Bernard by asking all the Singaporeans to recite the Singapore Pledge:

We the Citizens of Singapore
Pledged ourselves as one united people
Regardless of race, language or religion
To build a democratic society
Based on justice and equality
So as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation

I want to be a happy, prosperous and and progressive Singaporean!

Xinjiang preparations
Our trip to Xinjiang will be from 9 to 23 June. I will be away for 2 weeks! Getting excited as well as nervous about the trip as I did not take part in any planning and do not know exactly where we are going and what I am going to expect. Just took my typhoid jab today and some pills to delay my menstruation for $42. Arm still a little sore. Not going to take tetanus jab as my doctor said it is not necessary. All of us will be meeting up this Wed for a nice drink and food to discuss more details! Looking forward!

Bad things happening...

A series of unfortunate things happened and caused me to think if it is because God is punishing me for backsliding...

1. Dio $120 fine and 3 demerit points the first time I drove out to meet my friends.

2. Lost my way twice and wasted countless petrol and time.

3. Went to get my waterbag with Ken at Army market and his car was damaged by a reversing lorry. Sorry Ken, did I bring it upon u?

4. Dropped my iPod on the road when it was without any cover.

5. Parked the car too far away from the starting point of Sundown Marathon and Shi and I had to walk 4 km to and fro.

6. Drove all the way from Changi to Bukit Panjang to attend a wake but my member wasn't around. It was a futile trip.

Am I too sensitive? Is it really coincidence? Or God, are You punishing me?

Nevertheless, I thank God that:
1. I still have 9 points after deducting 3. I will be extra careful.

2. I still got to my destinations.

3. Both Ken and I were not injured.

4. My iPod is still working with only some scratches.

5. We got a lift from someone along the way when we were walking to the starting point. We completed the race and were not stuck in the traffic for long.

6. I didn't lose my way this time from home to Changi, Changi to Bukit Panjang and Bukit Panjang to home.

Dear Father, forgive me for my backsliding heart. I find it hard to carry on. I need some support from church friends and I can't find many. I know it all has to depend on myself and nobody else. Help me Lord to press on and love You and Your people more. I love You, Father! Amen!

ICPESS

I was sent to go for the 3rd International Conference of Physical Education and Sports Science from Tuesday onwards. I really miss the days when I studied at NIE. I miss the games, my classmates and the carefree life as a student. I miss walking around the campus in tshirt and shorts, working out in the gym, studying and revising in the library and Hub, slacking in the canteen, playing table tennis in the dance room, playing basketball, frisbee, volleyball, badminton in the mph, tennis at the tennis courts, swimming in the swimming pool, dozing off in lectures and tutorials and taking naps at the benches... And many many more. I miss those days!!! Yes! I do miss studying and revising in school. Being back in NIE really brings back much memories.

I see familiar faces... The drinks stall and rice stall uncles are still there. I didn't explore the whole canteen. Only went for a cup of teh o which cost 35 cents and a plate of chee cheong fun for 50 cents. Some of my lecturers still recognize me. Dr Bala to this day still reminds me not to fall asleep. Ha! His good friend caught a few of us sleeping in the dance room before. Mr K can never remember my name or which school I'm teaching in. Haha!

To all my students: Treasure the time you spend in school. They are the most carefree life you can ever have. Study the best that you can so that you will not live with regrets. Having a degree doesn't mean everything but it does mean something in our society. Study hard and play hard! When you grow up and start working, things change. Play time is greatly reduced due to work. This is the best time to participate in sports and have an active and healthy lifestyle. (I better start my exercise regime soon)

Anyway, I've learnt quite a number of things these few days. Thinking through and digesting. Especially how I can apply the knowledge in school. May I get some revelations and ideas to get things done. I love PE and sports!!!

Sad updates

Last Friday I drove to meet my cg members for dinner at China Square. I was lost and drove around for one hour before getting to my destination. Then I parked at the zig zag line and got a parking summon of $120 plus 3 demerit points. It was really a painful and expensive lesson learnt. I am now left with only 9 points.

I went to traffic police headquarters to appeal yesterday. Was rejected of my appeal. I almost teared. Angry and sad that I wasn't given any chance. Anyway, I have to be very careful from now onwards. I WILL NOT illegal park again no matter what. It shouldn't have been like this. :(

I feel that the grace of God has left me. Things hasn't been going smooth for me this year. I am tired, disappointed and discouraged. May the fire of God re-ignite me this week during the Asia Conference! Really, nothing matters when You are here with me.

Sick again..

My goodness! I'm supposed to be on the road to recovery but now I'm in a worse state than before. My Chinese physician said I didn't rest enough and wanted me to rest. He said I should avoid the sun, rain and wind. How to????!! My job doesn't allow me to... Then he asked if I need mc. How to???!! My pupils are taking NAPFA test next week. And mc from Chinese physician is not recognized by moe...

Currently feeling 生不如死. My throat is very itchy. The left side of my throat is a little swollen. I am coughing so hard that I'm feeling tired with the chest pain and headaches. I need healing!

Dear Father, please heal me and bless me with good health. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. Cough, headache, flu and itchy throat, go away in Jesus' mighty name!!! By His stripes I am healed. God is my Healer! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!!!! In Jesus' name I pray, amen!

I'm going to cook my medicine and hopefully by the end of these 2 packets of herbs, I will be well. :) Christian friends, pray for me please. Thank you!

I passed my driving test! I am a P plate driver now!

On 3 January 2010, I set 4 goals for myself...

1. Get my driving licence (By June)

2. Sing as a living for the glory of God

3. Jog at least twice a week (Wed and Sat)

4. Help with the financial burden at home and still live in financial abundance

Today, on 13 May 2010, I am proud and glad to announce that I had accomplished Point 1 and Point 4. I took my driving test today and passed with 16 points (for those who don't know, as long as I don't exceed 20 points and never commit major mistakes, I will pass)! Praise the Lord!!! I bought a P plate to get ready to drive my bro's car. =D

As for Point 2 and 3, I think I can start working on them now since my time is more freed up without driving lessons. I am excited as to what God has done for me, what He has done through me and what He is going to do through me. It has not been an easy year, but I had already accomplished much. I am really thankful.

Here's a recount of what happened this entire "bad" day that turned into good.
1. I have only 1 recess break and that break was taken up to key in results into the cockpit.
2. Told a lie and was caught red handed. (Well, what's done cannot be undone. I just have to make sure it doesn't happen again.) 我想应该就会坦白从宽吧??
3. "1st Aunt" visited me in the morning.
4. Whole day, my stomach was not feeling well and it didn't help when my kids were moving like snails while I was moving like the speed of light. (Too exaggerating, I know. I had only 30 minutes to brief and train my kids for NAPFA. Time not enough!!! Not money not enough!)
5. Took 1 hour early time off so that I could have lunch before my driving test, but in the end, I spent that time keying in results again.
6. Before I could get out of school, it started raining and rained heavier after.
7. When I was waiting for my tester in the room, the person sitting next to me was eating bread! Gosh! I was so hungry then!!!

And then the heavy rain became drizzle.

Thank God for Krystin. She did an encouraging note and got some of my good friends to sign and wish me all the best (I shall take a photo of it and post it here tomorrow). She bought a packet of soya bean for me (It was my only source of strength today). Thank God for all the well wishes from all my colleagues and friends. Thank God for a good tester! Thank God for a good instructor who taught me well! I am blessed! I am blessed!! I am blessed!!!

Disappointed

I am disappointed with people.

Someone told me according to another religion, this year my zodiac sign shows that I "FAN TAI SUI". Means things won't be smooth and I will be backstab by people. Indeed, it hasn't been smooth and I think I had been backstabbed by quite a number of people lately. HOWEVER, I DO NOT think it has anything to do with my zodiac sign but everything to do with my character and personality.

I have been very open with my feelings/emotions and perspective about things. Freely expressing them on Facebook and even here. But I guess it is time to stop doing so. Maybe to the extent of making my blog private and delete some so called "friends" on Facebook. However, I don't think I am in the wrong, so why should I be afraid of them? I believe my GOD will fight on my behalf. He will make sure that the righteous will stand. And yes, I'm learning how to write my status in a more subtle way. If you feel offended by my status or blog entry, check, do you have a guilty conscience? Are you offended because you (think) you are the one that I am writing about?

Stop stabbing me or others. I think it doesn't reflect well on you too. It also breaks the trust that people have for you. Imagine, people added you because we treat you as a friend? How unscrupulous can one get to climb to the top? Can't we do it the right way-by our own capabilities? We, Christians have the Holy Spirit to help us discern the right from wrong and the good from bad. I don't think anyone can run away from that. Anything done in the dark will be revealed in the light... one day. Remember, if you feel offended, are you the one with a guilty conscience?

So well, stay tune for more status updates on Facebook! =D
